Smoking resolved itself, perhaps having just the front of the car jacked way up for most of the day let oil flow somewhere it doesn't normally get to and it just needed to burn off? I took the car for a test drive today and there isn't any smoke anymore. Regrading the ducting; I had to back the hose off, cutting off about 4 inches so it terminates at the end of the tension rod, it rubbed on the wheels at full lock. And yes it blows air on the back of the dust shield but I hope the air gets sucked into the center of the rotor there where there are cut aways in the dust shield. I figure it can't hurt and if nothing else it gets more cold air flowing through the general area around the brakes. I also painted everything flat primer black so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, next time I get the car all cleaned up I'll take some more pics. Has anyone completely removed the rear dust shield? Would you share how it was done and if you have had any problems after removing them?
